Art & paintings
I paint what life and the world feel like to me.
My work begins with a feeling, an impression, or a meaning I want to understand. Colour, texture and abstraction are how I give it form. Each painting is a personal interpretation of an aspect of life or the world around me.
Nature, Abstracted is the first collection: ten paintings studying nature and its elements through my own perception. The energy of a bloom, the quiet of a leaf, the warmth of light and the rhythm of water become expressions in paint.
Nature is one starting point within a wider practice. What connects the paintings is the search for a feeling and the meaning held within it.
Dreams, the second collection, brings six new paintings into this evolving practice. Faces, traces and imagined spaces emerge through dark grounds, layered colour and expressive marks.
